![]() ![]() As illustrated above, when a map of the Continental U.S.A is overlaid on a map of Australia you can see how similar in size the land masses are. This size needs to be factored into your plans. For example the distance from Sydney to Perth is approximately 4350 km or 2700 miles and the flight time is about five hours. This is significantly longer than the international flight from Auckland, New Zealand to Sydney of approximately 2250 km or 1400 miles. Taking another example, the distance from Cape York in North Queensland to Adelaide in South Australia, is about equivalent to that between Hudson Bay in Ontario, Canada and the Florida Keys. |
