New Zealand produces many of the world's best sailors. Our miles of coastline with many wonderful bays and islands make it a sailing paradise. From the America's Cup and Round the World class sailing to sailing-dinghy, classic boats to modern racing boat or luxury yacht, we can set up a sailing adventure of your choice. For some charter possibilities, check out http://www.nzafloat.com. Snorkeling or Scuba Diving You're never more than three hours by car from the coastline in New Zealand. So you're never far from another dive opportunity. Hundreds of dive sites along the New Zealand coastline offer rich, diverse options from coastal indents and harbours to deep ancient fiords. With so much coastline and with relatively short distances between the east and the west coasts, it doesn't really matter which way the wind is blowing, you should be able to find good waves somewhere. Whether it is on the many beautiful lakes or around our miles of warm coastal waters, New Zealand is ideally suited for kayaking adventures: for an hour or two, a day or several days. Take the laid-back drifting approach. Much of our shoreline is accessible only from the water. Experience the magic of glowing phosphorescence on a summer night paddle to Rangitoto Island in the Waitemata Harbour of Auckland. See the crimson glory of the Pohutukawa (New Zealand Christmas Trees) from the water's edge. Paddle out to the fur seal colonies or around the many bays of Abel Tasman National Park or paddle with the dolphins in Doubtful Sound, Fiordland. Kayaking is the natural way to experience the stunning wilderness and coastline of New Zealand. Visitors can thrill the stresses from their system with a unique ballistic medicine - a 'Shotover Jet Thrill Therapy session'. Experience the natural chemical highs of exciting jet boating, fueling up on adrenaline, loading up with oxygen and endorphins, and luxuriating in euphoria to release stresses and bring the body back in balance. Freshwater or salt - New Zealand is an angler's paradise, offering some of the best opportunities for fishing in beautiful isolated and pristine locations. Inland, New Zealand's crystal clear waters, uncrowded rivers and lakes offer exciting opportunities for trout fishing - trophy sized Browns and Rainbows are legendary. New Zealand is a wild trout fishery and a catch and release approach is promoted to conserve resources. For more information on guided fishing trips, see http://www.nzafloat.com/2_tnails.htm. New Zealand was put on the big-game fishing map after a visit by legendary American writer, Zane Grey, in the 1920's. Excellent salt-water game can be found off the East Coast of the North Island. Catches include Tuna, Blue and Striped Marlin, Yellowtail Kingfish and Shark. See http://www.nzafloat.com/3_tnails.htm for some big game fishing charter boats. Magnificently designed courses, frequently set against breathtaking panoramas of snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests and seascapes, make New Zealand one of the world's most sought-after golf locations. There are more than 400 crowd-free golf courses where you can play year-round. That's more golf courses per capita than any other country. You will also find some of the least expensive golfing in the world where visitors are always welcome. Major courses have golf carts and clubs for hire. If you want to really see the country at a gentle pace - then bike touring is a great option. Or there is always the "action" style. Ride on a full-suspension, mountain bike (no uphill) on a guided tour through Skippers Canyon - a total of 16km of downhill. Beginner - Advanced. A tour with experienced cave professionals for adventurers of all abilities and age groups into the spectacular Ruakuri Cave in the Waitomo Caves Region. The awesome adrenalin of freefall, an unequalled level of safety and personal service, in a truly stunning location. Opportunities abound for the chance to gently float over the landscape. A number of Balloon Festivals are held each year. Absolutely anybody can enjoy parasailing. You choose to fly either solo or tandem. This is for all age groups, no experience is required. Bungy jumping is an adventure sport that captures the essence of Kiwi outdoor life - it's different, really 'off the wall'. In this case it's off a bridge or similar platform structure from 35 to 134 metres high. The bungy operator's crew secure a strong latex rubber cord either to a full body harness or around the jumper's ankles. The jumper hobbles to the edge of the platform, takes a deep breath and swan dives into space, free falling until the cord is fully extended. If the jump is over water there is usually a 'splash-down' or 'water touch' option and the jumper is retrieved by boat. Over land, the jumper is hoisted back up to the platform. A rigorous safety code of practice is followed in New Zealand so bungy jumping is a relatively safe adventure sport here. Zorbing - or rolling down a hill in a gigantic ball - also provides a major adrenalin rush Travel off-road through some of the most magnificent scenery in the world. Either at Rotorua's Mt Ngongataha or Queenstown's Bob's Peak, ride the Gondola to the top and create your own fun on a slick luge ride down.
